Hôtel Lily Of The Valley

This review is for Vista restaurant . Beautiful restaurant and setting but service is not near for the price you pay. We had our booking but receptionist could not find it and kept us 10 min at arrival saying we did not have booking when we clearly did. After finding our booking we sat for 15 min waiting for some service and menus. Had to ask 2 different staff members to bring us menus. Eventually we were given some attention. The food was not something extraordinary and needless to say it was the most expensive glass of house champagne I ever paid for ( 32 Euros per glass). My friend had to wait for 20 min for a second glass of wine. Clearly there must be some staff training done in this place .

Coldness of the staff and lack of good training make this beautiful hotel extremely disappointing. Examples: -Concierge never got back to us about booking dinner and beach club reservations for us. -Vista restaurant failed us on two nights. First night they had what seemed a brand new employee trying to de-bone my grilled fish tableside. He was so inexperienced that it took two other staff members to come over and guide him through the process. Now there were 3 people standing over my fish, speaking and spreading germs over my fish, and finally handed me my now cold fish after a 12 minute deboning. Seconds night the inexperienced gentleman who was cutting our $200 steak table side, dropped a huge piece on the floor at our feet. He apologize, continued cutting, and then left is with 3/4 of the steak we ordered in our plates, and never linking up the piece he stopped on the floor. So we ate our entire dinner and dessert with a slab of our steak next to our feet. -Beach restaurant staff were just as poor. They would literally look you in the eye when seeking a refill of a cocktail, and walk away as if they didn’t see our obvious and polite request for a second drink. -Housekeeping did not restock any water when cleaning the room. -No late checkout and it was explained to us quite rudely with an abrupt hanging up of the phone.
